GENERAL FIREARMS CLEANING
- Soak a suitable sized patch in Montana X-Treme Bore Solvent and mount on a jag.
- From the receiver end and preferably through a bore guide, push the patch through the bore allowing the patch to fall off as it exits the barrel. Repeat with a new wet patch.
- Soak a Montana X-Treme Nylon Brush in Bore Solvent and work the brush through the bore approximately 20 times.
- Repeat step 1 and 2 with two patches of Bore Solvent. If fouling is still present, repeat step 3. If copper deposits are still visible, apply a liberal amount of Montana X-Treme Copper Cream to a tight fitting patch and work back and forth through the bore several times followed by a wet patch of Bore Solvent.
- When satisfied the bore is clean, run two dry patches through the bore.
- To further protect the bore and reduce fouling and copper buildup, add a small amount of Montana X-Treme Bore Conditioner to a patch and run through the bore two times. Insure that you do not leave a heavy amount of Bore Conditioner oil in the barrel.
- Use Montana X-Treme Bore Solvent to clean actions and fouled surfaces.
- Use Montana X-Treme Gun Grease as needed on friction parts.
- Use Montana X-Treme Gun Oil as needed.
REMOVING HEAVY COPPER DEPOSITS
- Soak a suitable sized patch in Montana X-Treme Copper Killer 50 B.M.G. and mount on a jag.
- From the receiver end and preferably through a bore guide, push the patch through the bore allowing the patch to fall off as it exits the barrel. Repeat with a new wet patch.
- Soak a Montana X-Treme Nylon Brush in Copper Killer 50 B.M.G. and work the brush through the bore approximately 20 times.
- Soak a patch in Copper Killer 50 B.M.G. and run through the bore one time.
- Apply a liberal amount of Montana X-Treme Copper Cream to a tight fitting patch and work back and forth though the bore five or six times.
- Wet a patch with Copper Killer 50 B.M.G. and run through the bore. Repeat this step. If copper is still present, repeat steps 5 and 6 until copper fouling is removed to your satisfaction. For extremely difficult copper deposits, run a wet patch of Copper Killer 50 B.M.G. through the bore (at step 4) and allow to “soak” for 30 minutes before proceeding. Note: Copper Killer 50 B.M.G. will not damage the barrel and additional “soaking” time is not harmful.
- When fouling is removed to your satisfaction, run two dry patches through the bore.
- To further protect against fouling and copper buildup add a small amount of Montana X-Treme Bore Conditioner Oil to a patch and run through the bore two times. Insure that you do not leave a heavy amount of Bore Conditioner Oil in the barrel.
PROBLEM BARRELS WITH EXCESSIVE FOULING, RUST OR HEAVY ABUSE
- Soak a suitable sized patch in Montana X-Treme Copper Killer 50 B.M.G. and mount on a jag.

- Soak a Montana X-Treme Nylon Brush in Copper Killer 50 B.M.G. and work the brush through the bore approximately 20 times.
- Soak a patch in Copper Killer 50 B.M.G. and run through the bore one time.
- Apply a liberal amount of Montana X-Treme Bore Polish and Cleaning Compound to a tight fitting patch. Work this through the bore five or six times.
- Wet a patch with Copper Killer 50 B.M.G. and run through the bore. Repeat this step. If fouling is still present, repeat steps 4 and 5 until fouling is removed to your satisfaction. For extremely difficult fouling or copper deposits, run a wet patch of Copper Killer 50 B.M.G. through the bore (at step 4) and allow to “soak” for 30 minutes before proceeding. Note: Copper Killer 50 B.M.G. will not damage the barrel and additional “soaking” time is not harmful.

PROFESSIONAL NEW BARREL BREAK-IN PROCEDURE
FIRST 10 SHOTS
After each shot:
- Use two consecutive patches of Montana X-Treme Copper Killer 50 B.M.G. to wet the bore.
- Wet a Montana X-Treme Nylon Brush with Copper Killer 50 B.M.G. and scrub the bore 10 times.
- Wet the bore with a patch of Copper Killer 50 B.M.G.
- Saturate a patch with Montana X-Treme Copper Cream. Work back and forth in the bore five or six times.
- Remove Copper Cream with consecutive patches of Montana X-Treme Copper Killer 50 B.M.G.
- Finish with two consecutive dry patches. To further protect against copper buildup add a small amount of Montana X-Treme Bore Conditioner Oil to a patch and run through the bore two times. Insure that you do not leave a heavy residue of Bore Conditioner Oil in the barrel.
NEXT 20 SHOTS
- Repeat above procedure after five consecutive shots.
